Mountain/Stecyk III

October 8th, 2008

While doing my daily browse of the Slap website, I stumbled on a link to the new Nike SB Lance Mountain/CR Stecyk collab coming out in November. If you don’t know, CR Stecyk was the art genius behind many of the board graphics during Powell Peralta’s heyday in the 80s. Anyways, haven’t bought a pair of Nikes in a while besides the Hyperdunks when I ball kids up on the court, but I think I might get these just for the simple fact of Lance and CR. The site is good too, another one that uses flash in a subtle and not annoying way. (I noticed Nike loves using flash, even though for this site it’s not needed.)

If you get to it on the site, the black crew neck is as good as MINE in November.

On the Web: FTC

October 7th, 2008

Today I was looking at random sites that I haven’t checked out in a while. I decided to go over to the FTC site to see what was new and was surprised at what I saw.

I’m a sucker for good web typography, so the large video link navigation on the main page caught my eye immediately. I like the dynamic between the main nav which is very small, and then the large video links next to it. The site is flash intensive, but not in a annoying way. I think they used it just right. I also liked the large semi full screen video, especially since it has that pixelated quality to it. Probably just personal preference though. Peep the site when you get a chance; lots of good content.

Nova Lox & Scallions

October 6th, 2008

Today I had lunch at Noahs. If you don’t know it’s just a little bagel place in Southern California, I think moreso in the LA area. They are the only place that I’ve seen with a salted bagel, and if you know me, you know I like salt. So today I tried being healthy and ordered the Nova Lox & Scallions bagel.

It was good. Only thing that ruined it was my desire for the salted bagel. Afterwards it made my lips chapped and ashy.

Girl & Antihero

October 5th, 2008

Besides going to work, I don’t really go out to LA much. So when I do, I always feel like a tourist throwing up a peace sign in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

I love seeing all the random art on the walls. Seems like it’s encouraged to deface walls in LA. Anyways, this caught my eye for obvious reasons.

Only thing that made me mad was someone added rollerblades to the feet of the Girl logo. Whoever did was most likely wearing a tanktop, sideways hat, JNCO jeans and a big bagpack.

Through the eyes of the Grizzly.

September 21st, 2008

Since graduation last December, I’ve wanted to redo a port site. So the concept has been brewing for quite some time, it was just all a matter of finding the time to do it. So it’s finally up, but there’s still somethings I’d like to do to it. But for now, thanks for stopping by and staying interested in all things Grizzly. I’ll be blogging on the daily (hopefully), so keep checking back.

One more thing, vote Murs -4- President.
